Made my 3rd trip to the Wheat Field in one week.
Got in a 2-1/2 maybe 3 hr hunt/harvest yesterday evening.
Ended up pulling 11 more Wheaties and a silver war nickel. Oldest wheatie yesterday was 1916.
Out of the last 3 hunts there ive gotten 38 wheats and 3 silvers. 2 Silvers were war nickels and 3rd was part of a rosary..
3 War nickels in one week. :BangHead:
What I wouldn't do for a 90% Silver coin... lol. They've been a lil scarce for me lately. Been a little over a month...
This site has most likely been cherry-picked hard over the years. As are most of my sites...:dontknow:
Looking for Silver and end up digging for wheat pennies and War nickels.
Guess I have to take what I can get, and chalk it up as practice with the new DEUS.
Did manage to get a First yesterday, First coin with a Letter stamped on it, I think....:icon_scratch: "R"

That's kinda weird about no silver coins with all those wheaties ! Kinda hard to believe it's been cherry picked repeatedly because
those of us who have been detecting for a while have learned that a worn silver dime down a few inches can look like a wheat or
copper cent . Additionally that picker would be missing numerous smaller silver rings and pendants too.

Thanks for the Warm welcome and all the comments guys. Ive been posting my finds in the Mississippi section for the past couple months and I don't get nearly as many remarks, likes, or views. I tried to bring the MS section to life, but it didn't seem to work. Im back at todays finds section for good....

Diggingfor40years - Thanks.!
Sutphin - Thanks.! Saturday I put in 7 hrs there and sweated balls. That's the day I got 22 wheats, 61 copper lincolns, and 16 zincolns. Hands and legs cramped that night.
Argentium - Thanks.! I totally agree with ya. There have been many times that I have dug a signal and thought for sure it was a copper penny, but turned out to be a silver dime. Just not at this site.... Guess that is why I keep going back. Seems like there should be some silver left. No matter how good a cherrypicker is, seems like they always miss something.. Just cant comprehend why I haven't gotten a silver dime or something.. The ratio is way off...
J.Cache - Thanks.! I cant complain about those nickels. Just a little aggrevated. The past 4 silver coins I have found in the past month were nickels. BTW what does "OD" mean?
Basque-Man - Thanks.! That's what I keep thinking. Im definitely not done there.. The city cut the grass yesterday, and im sure there has to be lots more there. Guess I will have to keep working on my copper and nickel collection until I find a 90% silver coin....

I also dug a buffalo, a tax token, buttons, and jewelry in there this past week. So im not giving up yet.....

Thanks Guys.!
David680 - I still getting excited when finding them nicks, just a little bummed my last 4 silver coins have been nicks.. The silver gods are teasing me...
Ogre1190 - That's what im hoping for. Id settle for a key date wheatie, esp the 1909 S V.D B.. lol. I did get a 1910 there on Saturday, almost 1909, but not key.
Oh crap, I haven't been checking for the 1955 DD, but I do always save my coppers. That 55DD is worth some cheddar, but probably rarer than a bigfoot sighting.

That's a nice patch, Regardless of the lack of silver. Where there is that much older copper there is gotta be some 90%. Go slow and dig it all. Happy hunting.

Dirtdiglr - I agree. Slow and Low. Just got home from the Field. Got some good news. Will share in a post tomorrow.
BigWaveDave - Yeah, counter-stamp is the word I was lookin for. I thought that was pretty neat. This area used to have a lot of backroom casinos. Wonder if that was someones poker-chips or something.

Wow,lots of wheats there. Whoever detected that site before must have scooped up the silver and tossed back the pennies,as that much pennies found, sure should have produced some silver.Go back some silver should be left.

With all those wheats there has to be more silver there. And those OD nickels (Old Dude Nickels) are always Sweet to find.
Hit it again...
