frustration of not finding silver this year got me to go to
the Grounds I remember finding my Last piece of Silver last year in Hopes
I may break This Slump of only finding Wheats & clad so far.

So to beat the Heat I headed out at Dawn

a Little History of the Carnival Grounds:

The carnival grounds of approximately 14 acres was bought from William Wiest on January 8th, 1951 for $2,500.00.The second Fireman's Carnival was held on the grounds on June 26-19, 1951. The carnival has been held on these grounds every year since. Over the years, a cake stand, stage, bingo pavilion, 2 picnic pavilions, playground equipment, and a baseball diamond have been added.

in spite of it's fairly new age of the carnival.
I have pulled a 1790's Half Cent & a 1790's Large cent here
in the past.
as The Tulpehocken trail runs through this town also

And this place rarely lets me leave without a piece of silver

a Bit of trash.

My first 2 coins dug were Wheats
& in spite of the coincidence of them both being 1937
they were not in the same hole

Nice! With grounds like that it should produce for a long time to come. I'd love to hunt somewhere like that!!!
Congrats on the silver

Congrats!

No matter how many times I dig, seeing that first glimmer of silver in a hole always plants a smile on my face! :)

Not in bad shape either! WTG!

In the first pic Jeff - I noticed the river running right through there - I'd be working the banks of it as far as possible on
both sides . Nice score on the merc and the wheats .

"Mahantango Creek" Occasionally I hunt that area but the amount of 18 inch plus deep
beer and soda cans can frustrate me mighty fast :laughing7:
a 1790' half cent come out in that area

Yeah , I'm sure that gets tedious and tiresome , but with the continuous occupation of your area for such a long time ,
I gotta think there's some good stuff in there too.

deep and an easy 6" or more.

Nice pics you always post. The silver dime came after hard work. You seem to be able to research and hunt many old parks and other sites.
