"Garden Gully Part 1" [ Valintine's powder battery and home 1870 ]

hi all, Worked long hours this week and had lots of rain. Finally got out to a site which had been demo-ed lately. The site is located between a once black-powder battery and the family home of the Valintines. These people made the power for the deep gold mines at the bottom of the hill. This where Garden Gully Quartz Gold reef starts.Lots of trash but did well along a retainer wall, made of hand-made red bricks.

Found a 1906 medal for shooting, 1890 farthing {eng} Club token 5/ and a once sliver plated ring.

Great finds Tinpan. The noose is odd ??? Loooove that shooting medal, she's a beauty. Are you having trouble with a lot of metal rubbish? That site looks like a detecting nightmare ;)
Good luck out there mate.

Nice finds tinpan, WTG!!!
Just wondering why you called that a shooting medal? Looks like an old church token to me, ??? or am I looking at the wrong pic?
Continued Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Looks like a hard site to detect with all that trash, but you always seem to pull the good stuff out. I am home from my 'walk about "now so hope to see more of your finds. Is that a little pot with a hole in it?
