Um, whats the mint mark on that dime ?? If it's an "S" go buy yourself a new home. Otherwise it looks like an off-center "O".

Re: watch where you're walking!

1894-s G to AG lists for $6-8.25, the 1894-o which this coin appears to be from the pic, values roughly the same. Even the key date coin in the series, a 1901-s in this condition will net you $6,500 or less for a collector willing to pay that amount.

Considering that the median price of a home in Los Angeles county is $600,00, you might need a larger down unless you want a 4K+ mortgage plus PMI (Haha!.. Just having some fun)

That's a great find. I have only found one Barber Quarter in my days and that was on the East coast (PA, 1892 AG condition)

Keep up the excellent work and may your fortune continue!

Sorry, I have no idea why but I thought it was a dime.

Hmmm, wonder when the first pedometer was made. I really didn't think they were made until the mid-20th century. I learn so much from the finds the other TNetters post on here. Yes, farmers had to walk and walk, but I didn't think they kept track of their mileage. Maybe they had speedometers, too. LOL Nice quarter - I'd be happy with either of those items, you found both of them. Congrats.

Re: watch where you're walking!

it might be a surveyors say for "walking off a distance"---if you know your strides lenght you could "rough measure" with it ---just a thought.

I'm surprised too at what would seem to be an old pedometer. I thought they were a new fangled sort of thang. I mean, I'm not surprised that the old timers would have that sort of technology ::) , but that there was a market for it.

Wow, and it doesn't even have the thumb counting thingy on it! How cool can that be? I've never seen one of those! Great job-fine! That farmer may have been paying his plow horse a dime a day? :)

Re: watch where you're walking!

So I am thinking to myself, WTF happened to 11 and 12 o'clock, weren't they invented yet, LMAO. I know I wasn't the only one, c'mon. Sweet coin's and antique pedometer. I am guessing that some antiquer would be interested in that little piece of history. HH
