Ever since I was a kid I've wanted to prospect. Now at 30 years old I've finally been able to do a little panning. Found my first picker last night here in Ohio. I watched hours and hours of YouTube videos and I kept asking myself if I'd be able to do this. I wondered if I would even be able to recognize the gold if I saw it. Well I found it. Got my first picker. So excited. Felt awesome seeing that gold pop out of that black sand. 20150801_210435.jpg 20150801_210435.jpg

Well that is a start. Gold is gold. And since you are still a kid,you should have plenty more chances to scrape up more.

I remember my first picker quite well, too! Nothing like seeing that sucker in the bottom of the pan. Congrats on a life experience that you'll hold onto forever! That's worth more than the gold value, any day of the week. :)

Yeah ! It is addicting to see that color when you get down to the black sand . I grew up in Montana and did some panning
around Helena .

I always wanted to give it a try. I live in Cincinnati Ohio and I was told the gold is farther north from me.
