A little surprise in the woods...

Well went out Saturday morning to do a few errands and on the way back home decided to hit some woods and do some detecting. Knew it was going to be a very hot day so thought a nice quiet, cool hunt in the woods would be nice. These woods seem to have had some activity in them in the past which makes for some interesting finds. My first good find was this surprising little 925 silver ring in the middle of no where....

Leaf design on it...

Started finding some old bricks...

Then started finding some old machinery pieces...

And also found this hunk of metal...

It reads "Qual Cast" Model H" Qual Cast Derby England" Anybody know what this was used for? Or the piece up top?

Also found something that resembles a rifle barrel?...

It's 18" in length...

The Qualcast piece is that of a vintage pusher mower. Qualcast had a factory in Derby England, the Model "H" is probably round base plate on one side of the tumbler or the other. It's also possible, especially if found in the same area as the mower piece, that the "rifle barrel" could be part of the mower assembly that connected and stabilized the tumbler/cutting parts between the two base plates. Although you said 18" on the barrel length, the two models qualcast made of the model H were a 10 and 16" machine, so may its all part of a vintage mower thats now strewn about the area.This model was most likely made in the 1930s and retailed at that time for about 2 british pounds.

Thanks a lot for helping me out on id'ing the cast wheel hbeaton. Really appreciate you taking the time to find that out. Funny something like that would be way out in the middle of the woods. Guess it's possible the area could have been farm land at some point in time. Thanks again.
