It's my 3rd one out of the old cellar hole. Man the finds are getting thin around there now. I can walk for 50 feet and not even get a signal.

My two hour hunt yesterday only resulted in a 1980 memorial cent.

I drool with envy :)

Man that LC has some meat on it. The ground you found that in is real forgiving, lots of detail. Congratulations

I would be very happy with that. It's in great shape-the ground was kind to it.

I guess your post is a good barometer for telling how much any of us love metal detecting. How addicted we are. I would gladly take a day off work to metal detect if I knew that the hunt would yield a single modest-value large cent in five hours time. I would probably lose sleep the night before in anticipation of finding that one large cent.

that\s a nice lookin cent, love the other 2 you posted, they held up well. Up here in Ontario the pickins are gettin slim, most property iis privately owned and it's tough to get permissions to hunt unless it's through someone that knows someone lol. Not saying it's dry, only saying tougher. The towns and cities are clamping down on this due to the few that leave the holes and or a dig mess, so the research books are always still open to find new pay dirt. Cheers.

I know exactly what your saying. I asked permission at a great looking sight yesterday and the gentleman said "NO.... I have seen those guys doing it on TV". No matter what I said to make peace after that he didn't want to hear it.

Those are the only 3 I have ever found and I have been detecting for 35 years now. Keep at it! Sooner or later you will stumble on one.
