Today went back to the pond were I found the 8 reale a few months ago.
It was really hot, and things were slow. So I decided to go into the woods a little to get out of the sun.
I am so glad I did.. 5 minutes in there I get real nice high tone on the CTX 1345/1246. New it was going to be silver or a LC, it said 6inches, so I take my time and cut a nice plug flip it over a right there was a handsome guy with a big nose looking right at me..LOL the 2reale!!! This is my first 2reale, found half ones 1reales, cut 4reale, and my big 8reale..
You know I was happy..
Especially since I whatched CJON, pull a 1728 Pistareen out right in front of me at this site with my machine!!!! Lol.
So now I am really excited and I am going to slow down and really pound this area.. About 20min later I get almost the same signal, and my heart is pounding, it tells me this one is 8inch down, i cut the plug and its even deeper. I found it and take it out I look at it a i think its a one reale..
I wipe a little dirt of and see seated liberty, and say oh a quarter cool.
Put it in my bag and keep detecting.
Not much after that.
So I go to my truck and text Bill D a pic of the 2reale. Then he calls me and were talking. I tell him i also found a seated quarter and i grap it out of my pouch and say hey it seems smalller???? Thats weird..
I turn it on to the back a can just make out 20 ce..
I say get the hell out of here, its a 20 center... I always wanted to find one since i started detecting. After I found my first 2center, i found out they made different monies..lol
2 cents, 3cents, half cents, half dimes and the elusive 20centers!!!!
Now my weird cents are COMPLETE. .LOL.
Thanks for looking and enjoy the pics.

Now that's a sweet find the 20 cent piece is, and one that's rare as hen's teeth it seems. I managed to score a 1858 Canadian 20 cent piece, the only target in a rough ploughed field, it's one of my fondest memories for finds as this one will be for you I'm sure, congrats on the find.

George - that was so cool to be talking with you on the phone at the instant you realized what you had. And I was just as excited as you! As you know, these are very rarely seen and, although its not an extremely valuable coin, it's a remarkable find for sure. You see gold coins posted here all the time, but how many of these do you see? Virtually none. Based on that I'm submitting my banner vote. And your big-nose 2 reale is an outstanding find in itself. Many congrats on an incredible hunt and for these 2 amazing finds. And I really appreciate you taking the time to share your excitement with me over the phone. I know you'll be enjoying the rest of your evening if you can get your heart rate to slow down. See ya ....

Thanks Bill,
Glad were able to share these finds with people who know and appreciate them..
Look forward to hunting together.
You better hurry up! Lol

Just messing around! The 15 center would be right next to the $3 bill :laughing7: The 20 center is probably the rarest of the "weird cents" for some reason. Never found one yet myself and have found prob about 8-10 2-centers over the years. Bill D is right there are less 20 cent coins posted here than gold

I had to Google it to just to make sure there wasn't one :laughing7: There are two types of 3-centers however, and the non-silver one is prob the next rarest weird cent to your 20 cent piece.

I'm not saying this because you're my buddy. Actually I dislike you very much right at this moment. But Georgie, that's a banner coin. Not the real, but the 20c.

Banner vote goes in from me and I'm happy for you bud. You aren't completely lucky, just very lucky. I know how hard you work to do what you do.

Cheers

Steve

Very nice Vino . Id love to find either one of those coins, but couldn't even imagine what it must feel like to find both in the same day.
Nice details on the Reale, and even nicer on the 20 center. Love that eagle design.
Don't know what you did to be so fortunate, but it must have worked.
Id go back tomorrow and pitch a tent at that site. Call in sick, and cash all those honey-do favors in.....
:occasion14:
Banner for sure....

Damn George... I get off tnet after work and a few hours later come back on to see this. I know you've been after the 2 reale, but that 20c is just awesome.... hardly ever see them posted. Killer hunt man! I've voting to see that one up top. Just awesome dude.
