Ian...You dug some nice relics today! That Cherub is too cool.Is she hollowed or solid? Any indication wheather it was broke off of something, or was it a pin back?
The buttons are exciting finds as well....joe

Hey Joe,

Thanks! Yeah the cherub is hollow and looks like it might have had a piece broken off the back. I don't know if you can see it but it has a slight gold sheen to it still. The weird thing is that I dug it Sunday morning and I have a family member that is in the hospital that I was thinking about when I dug it. I was like, wow, I just dug a guardian angel! It was so weird, like a good omen or something!

Great stuff Ian, I hope your relative is doing well. Are those Oakland or Saginaw county finds? We need to get together with Jopher and hunt some local history. Bongo

Great Beauties, Ian! Especially the Angel. Found my first Eagle button like yours yesterday.

Nice finds, what caught my eye is the Locomotive button. A beautiful crude button and it is the first one I have seen posted with the stars, interesting. I have found two old Choo Choo buttons (both from same coat I am sure) and a friend of mine has found one .

Here's a pic of one of the ones I found, complete with a caboose! :)

Don, that's interesting that you found one as well. It sure looks similar. Judging by the age of some of the finds that you post yours must be very old. I think my is 1800s for sure. Now if I could just find a large cent like you!

Thanks for posting the picture,

Ian
