Walked onto the site turned on the F22 and started swinging. This was in my first hole. I don't know what it is yet but I'm pretty sure it's old, silver and hand engraved. I'm sure someone can tell me what it is pretty quick. I can't complain about my silver coin drought with finds like this one though

EDIT: This has been identified. It's called a Pomander and here is a link to more info and a similar piece

Thanks. It’s funny to go back and read my posts from this. I had just started detecting and was pretty clueless yet this find is so unique and rare it would still have stumped me even today. That was an awesome site and really what got me hooked on the hobby.

That's weird. I found this yesterday myself.
It's marked "Forbes Silver Co. Triple No.2" 16021516450512135624741650466753.jpg

Forbes was in business from 1894 -1898.

Yes they were, but became part of the International Silver Company in 1898 and the 'Forbes Silver Co.' branding continued to be used by ISC until 1935.

I thought mine was a salt or pepper shaker or or sugar shaker , which it may be.
But mine is rounded on the wide end so doesn't stand flat.
It's quite thick and heavy also.
Mine only has one chamber.
