Congrats from one "downeaster" to another. I grew up in Kinston and spent quite a bit of time in Goldsboro. I just have to say that if you have been detecting for 25 years and were lucky enough to find that awesome buckle you aren't likely to find another. Unless you're in a financial bind I would never sell that awesome relic. If you do sell it I promise one day you will regret it. Either way, congratulations!

Luke that is NOT considered a "clipped corner' buckle. Here is and example of a clipped corner buckle. Clipped corner buckles are typically sheet brass with the corners clipped to take away the sharp points. Gilligans buckle is cast brass and that style CS buckle is known as the "sardine can" style.
