Hi Ryan - The Penny or the Halfpenny token? I have seen one or two of the Halfpenny tokens posted over the years (one US, one Astralia, one England...) but never the larger Penny size.

The one that is 24.1 grams mine is pretty much a blank the only way I was able to identify it was that on the edge it says Liverpool England and some other vary faint letters. I matched the font of the letters the weight and diameter.

Ryan, Based on the diameter and weight of your coin I'd say it is a One Penny token, but because after the original PMC Druid pennies & halfpennies were minted there literally thousands of other designs so I'm not sure if seeing an edge inscription of Liverpool England would necessarily attribute it to a PMC Druid penny. Can you see any detail on the obverse or reverse? Shame it's toasted, but nice find regardless.

Maybe I didn't see any other designs that said Liverpool on the edge with the with the diameter and weight. I stared at the coin for a long time googling it was extremely hard to find out.

All the Conder penny (34 mm), halfpenny (29 mm), and farthing (21 mm) tokens have the same weight and diameter. This was a standard they had to adhere to

Oh well at least I know it must be the penny which one I'm not sure still leaning towards the one you found tho I hope I find another super unlikely tho I live in Maryland I wish I knew the story on how it got here!

I have to say after having a chance to read this post and take it all in, that this is one of the best single hunts I've seen on Tnet this summer (in terms of rarity, age, and variety).

    Congratulations again.

    Bannerworthy for sure.

Awesome coins! Congrats on a trifecta of rare coins! That's got to be some kind of Banner rare coin fest!

    And a new friend!

Thx MsBeepBeep after 15 years of detecting it was a bit odd digging coins that I could not recognize in the field! Making new friends is one of the best parts of the hobby. Thanks for the Banner vote!!
