I found this at dark last week and didn't think it was anything but a blob of metal. I was cleaning out my finds pouch when I discovered it was actually the head off a small statue. I'm not sure what the metal is that it's made of. It's right at 2" tall and he's wearing a hat like what you would see from the Renaissance Period. I was thinking it's one of the great painters or artist. I've been told Jesus but I don't agree with that. My wife and a few others say Christopher Columbus but I've never seen a picture of him with a beard. I would appreciate any help on ID if it is a person of history and maybe a web link to info on it. It may just be a random person just as an art piece. Thanks! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1440725708.086931.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1440725726.906490.jpg

That style of beret was popular with the Dutch Masters..Here's a self portrait of Rembrandt Rembrandt.jpg Although, based on the hair and beard style, it may be Jesus as rendered by a Renaissance artist. Very cool find.

Sooper Dave, Renaissance statues for mantels, shelves, and table tops were popular in the 1890-1920's. We have two made in spelter, which is an alloy of tin and other metals. Notice how the artistry of the face and head is nearly identical to yours. Now go find the rest of him! Sub 8-)
