I Don't Believe That I Found My 4th Silver Half In 6 Weeks!

I've posted my finds from Saturday and today. Saturday I hunted the median strip again and dug up 2 silver dimes, a silver ring, and 6 wheat pennies!

Today I received permission from a church pastor to hunt the front of his church after his service was over. I had noticed this little church about a month ago
and finally got the time to hunt it. Due to the drought here in Calif. the church had allowed the front yard grass area to completely die off, this left a light sandy loam
soil to dig in, it was like digging on beach! I was digging clads and a few wheaties right off the bat...after about 20 minutes I dug out a 1951-S Franklyn Half Dollar!
It was right there in the sandy soil about 4 inches deep. It looks like it was dropped yesterday? It's still new looking and shiny! A little later out pops a 43 Merc , 44-D War Nickel, and 7 wheaties! Total coins from the front of the church was 39! Normally I find about 2 or 3 silver half dollars per year, I've dug 4 over the last 6 weeks!

When it rains it pours. I found a '51 franklin/'17 walker/'03 barber/'71 seated in a two month span this spring. I haven't seen one since.

I found 4 Walkers (1941-42-43-44) within a 6 wk period this summer.

NICE! I haven't found a silver half since 2011. Matter of fact, my only half in two years is a 72d.


I did manage a 43 quarter and a 60d quarter as well as a 49d rosie along with 7 wheats yesterday so I'm not complaining!
