This past Saturday I had the urge to dig and went to another of my “well pounded” spots. The spot is fairly large and housed three paper mill workers homes based on the three separate hot spots I have found. Over the years I have recovered over 150 19[SUP]th[/SUP] century buttons including about a dozen military buttons. I have also got a number of large cents and Indian heads here, but the people seem to have been too poor to have carried silver, since I have only found one Barber Dime. It’s the kind of place where you can always come up with something if you go slow through the iron patches and dig some iffy signals. However I was a little surprised to dig six buttons in 3 hours from the bone dry dirt on Saturday, including another military button.

Hey that place sounds good to me even without silver. I have an old coal mining camp from 1860's that has nothing but tons of cut nails and broken pottery/glass. They are the only old stacked stone walled cellar holes I know of so I have to be content with old nails lol.

Got to like old reliable sites.
I hear you on "no Silver" had a few sites like that, 10-20 copper coins, but not a silver.

Nice hunt Steve. I have quite a few sites like that.
If you go slow, you can always come home with a button or 2.
Come on rain and cooler weather.
