Dave I woke up and checked the forum and burst out laughing when I read your post. You wrote what I feel like writing so many times. It gets so bloody frustrating sometimes. I like the early model toy car. Just for the record

    Cheers Dave

    Ok guys...full disclosure.
I think this post, deep down inside, was in the spirit of the guy who recently found "an ok fugio"

Honestly, I am not at all bent about my finds, these are the results of a third hunt from my latest permission, after a nice, long rain Sunday nite. The 61-D Rosie is my 3rd silver from the yard, which also yielded about 30 wheats. The fork is a silver plated cocktail fork from the Arion company.....1916 thru 1940's. The little car just below the thin Bahia grass, I remember my kids played with those, mid 90's. What I will never understand is the damn .50 caliber bullets.... found like 20 of them in the turf. Defies all logic and explanation. Fact is, I find them all the time here in Ft. Myers, in all directions of town... all I can think of, is a kid had a stash of them, and had holes in his pockets.
The kicker is, the guy who owns the place will be keeping all the finds (except the coins) for a shadow box that he is making, for thye history of his home...so that is kind of cool... come to think of it, I left a shoe horn on his step... gotta go.

On the bright side your Tom Brady got away with cheating again, leaving 2 Patriots employees to take the fall. That should lighten your mood.

Remember its not the treasures we find or the length of the journey. But the fact that when we are done we can look back at our life and smile with a satisfied feeling that we enjoyed the trip. So always "Keep Swinging And Keep Smiling"

I visited Ft. Myers once, many years ago... before 9/11, anyway... because a buddy of mine had moved from here down to there and he fell in love with the area. Even though he had moved to the Clearwater area by that time, we revisited some of his old haunts in Ft Myers, and stayed at a hotel right on Ft. Myers beach. I loved it too, although at the time there was beach reclamation going on and at times the smell wasn't quite so pleasant... but at night, when the work was over with (or maybe just moved farther down the beach) walking along the beach feeling that cool talcum-powderey sand under my feet.... it was beautiful! I even tried a conch fritter (mmm - chewy) (I was hoping to try gator but apparently it wasn't in season...?)! I always remember that trip whenever I see BWD post.... and reading this post I have to say .... if I could be there, in Florida again, metal detecting and finding stuff like that, especially if my old buddy Scott was along with... I would be soooo happy.

Crappy finds! Wish you wouldn't have shared! Oh, and to take better pics you have to.......................

Hey! at least you didn't swipe your detector through fresh slimmy dog pooo, then throw it in the back seat of your car! Come on I can't be the only one who has ever done this on a 90 degree day?

You have some cool stuff there! Better than nails and pop tabs!

Your finds look a lot like mine, Dave. I too know your pain. But, every day that I go out I say, "maybe today!"
