Found a kids penny cache

Now I have to admit something, I have never fully detected my own yard. Today after work I detected down the south end of my home and got a huge hit. Digging down a little I found bits of broken glass and pennys, alot of pennys. I ended up with a double handfull of pennys and about half of a jar worth of glass. The pennys are all 1970's and 1980's, so nothing good there, just a neat find.

Neat find. It's always exciting when you dig up that first piece of glass and a coin soon follows. Just like digging for buried treasure.

Great find.. I went to the place I grew up at on my first detecting gig and found my first mercury dime. Sweet...Congrats and go do the rest of the yard, you may find a few more older ones... jgas

I think Rich is still looking over that Matagorda Bay map from 1905 I sent him. Had some nice old Spanish Trails and wells listed on it. Those pennies are long gone, if the date of the original post is any indicator.

you never know I found 12 pennies in a lot from the 1900s all Dated 2000 plus. then 10 feet away I find two Wash Tax Tokens?? good cache find!! HH
