Found another Newfoundland one cent coin. It is one of the best conditioned large cents I have found so far. Oh! And it's another Victorian era coin. The sixth oldest in my collection of dug coins.:hello2:

Lots of detail on the LC, and always liked the design on the coinage.

At a mintage of only 200,000, it's more than twice as rare as a US 1909 S VDB Lincoln cent (484,000 minted); great find!!
Don.......
So that is a good point...but then I got to thinking....is it really twice as rare as a1909-S VDB?

The Newfoundland cent IS a great find, but correct me if I am wrong... at the time it was minted, coupled with the territory it was minted for circulation, along with said population at that time....seems that it wouldn't be "rarer"...if put into perspective.

The size of the US, along with its population in 1909.......seems to be much harder to obtain.

this coming from a guy who doesn't own either coin.:dontknow:

Again....great find! I like the green patina.
