It's been a while since I have posted, mainly cause I haven't found anything spectacular. I thought I would share this button mainly cause I can't find much on the button itself and hopefully someone can shed some light on it and it's rarity.

If people remember the site where I had my banner of finds, the sword plate, breastplate, silver coins and old coppers. Well I've been working this site all year and have been pulling half cents, buttons and other relics every time I visit.

Yesterday was no different. I found some buttons, a KG II COPPER. I worked one side of the hill and got a 35 foil signal, and there is lots of foil in this field, but you dig it all at sites like this. Turned out to be a pewter 76th Regiment of foot button. The shank is missing, but what a sweet find. This has been the first military button that has come out of this field, period.

Pictures below. Thanks for looking.

That's a winner there! Rev War British 76th. For only finding one military button you made it count!

Another nice hunt from Button Hill. The 76th was probably lost by a British Prisoner of War. There were a number of Rev War POW camps down in your neck of the woods.

I think there may have been a real nice officer one posted since his. There was a beautiful numbered officer button posted that was dug just North or Toronto I believe.... may have been it.

This Fall someone in our circle of diggers is going to get a nice early British officer button... I can smell it. The aroma of a plate is in the air too... mark my words, something is coming!
