Any help with info on this anchor?

Found this anchor with a shrimp net off the coast of Louisiana. From what I can tell it may be 1500's??? I'm just guessing, eye where ring is is forged. image.jpg

I live on central coast of California & my town has 4 or 5 huge thick anchors displayed in parks around town, anchors from the 1800's sailing days. From late 1700's up to as recently as 1950's, storms wrecked many ships along our treacherous rocky coast and sometimes even dashed whole fleets of small moored fishing ships far up onto the beach. The "Pacific" ocean was misnamed for sure. Andi

a couple of heavy rains pouring off the roof onto the anchor revealed a three strand rope knot encrusted on the anchor tied to the ring. If that makes a difference
