I'm looking for some help to determine if I'm correct that this item is a toy cannon dating back I believe to the 1930's or 40's. I located a home/farmstead in Burlington, NJ, that was razed to make way for a park. The house/farm was built sometime prior to 1930 based on mapping and tax records. I also found some porcelain shards that would have been in the yard to the West of the house. No doubt more items will be found and I will post them. Thank you for any insight as to whether or not this is a toy cannon.

not an exact match, but yours would have been very similar display_792_EUROPEAN_PERCUSSION_LADIES_MUFF_PISTOL_CA_1850__633648712704375000.jpg

I found an almost exact replica a few years ago. The liege mark was visible so I took it to a gun smith. It was made in the early 1850s in Belgium, and was a single shot percussion pistol. Nice find.

Wow, the pistol makes more sense now, I didn't take a picture of the underside, but there is a place for a trigger and guard. I was a bit off on the toy idea.
Thank you so much to all that responded, I truly appreciate the assistance!

Very Nice find!!! Do you have any more pics? The only boot pistol I found was so rusted it looks like a hot mess and the cylinder is seized. Sweet save ! HH!

If you wish I could send a pic looking underneath. I'm excited, albeit off base on what I thought it was, but it makes sense looking at pics of a real one. I can't wait to get back up to the site and get busy. Thank you for the response.
