Colonial Silver in "just five more minutes..."

As busy as I am, I always try to find time to hunt. Haven't been since last Sunday but the rain got me out to an old spot. I had a half hour and needed to make it count. The Washington quarter and Indian head got me primed for something great, problem was I was out of time. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1443736255.916162.jpg

I allowed myself 5 more minutes and within steps I was latched onto a 12-40/41 signal, choppy, but at 9". I dig, found a handful of dirt containing the object, and I dump it. Here's what I saw ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1443736368.719953.jpg

I'm pumped but still don't know what it is ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1443736392.817534.jpg

Holy moly I am stoked!

Yep she's worn but I like 'em better that way. What a great year for me with Spanish silver!
Enjoy, happy hunting, and next time take that extra 5 minutes!

Steve

Oh PS- I'd like to give a shout out to Carolina Tom for the lucky t-shirt he sent me that I happened to be wearing today. It featured a picture of a flying eagle cent he found on a hunt with me. Thx Tom!

Nice post...nice post. That's the way I think many times...a little more time...a little colonial silver. Nice find.

aj

It's so addicting right?! I wonder how many people on here have been wicked late by staying just "5 more minutes"?

You're finding silver like that at an old spot and I have done 3 new permissions in a week and can't even get a modern silver:BangHead:
I need a lucky shirt!

Talk to Tom about a lucky shirt. I know what you mean about permissions tanking. I've worked several permissions that didn't produce anything that took me several months to get. It's a crapshoot Dave

Awesome reale Steve! It's only happened a few times to me, but seeing thin silver like that come out is a rush. That's a fantastic quick hunt you had.

Brad

Thx Brad. Yep the thin , smooth silver rim is always an exciting thing. Although last week I popped out a Canadian 5-cent "fish scale" from 1886 that I thought was a reale for a minute

Dang , You guys and gals back East are spoiled - you were "primed to find something great " after finding the Silver Quarter,
and the Indian Head cent ! I'd have been Jacked to find those !!! (The Spanish is the the icing for sure !)

Lol. I was totally stoked about the others. It's just like comparing a beautiful woman to a supermodel. One just a little nicer;)

Funny how, thin smooth silver is just as exciting as large reeded clunky silver... Heck, toasty copper works for me just as well!

Congrats on the awesome Spanish silver... the quarter and IHC aint bad, but slightly overshadowed by the colonial silver.

I thought that I rubbed all of the good luck off of that shirt before I sent it to you, I must have rubbed the good luck "into" it. Hate it when that happens!

Best of luck to you my man!
