I've been doing some landscaping for the past few weeks so I can tear it up,so to speak. Found the merc and the lead Dodge a couple weeks ago. The button and the"chain ring?" I found today. The chain is gold color, but how do you tell if it's gold? It's light, but no corrosion. Gold plated aluminum? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and happy hunting.

I like the merc, button and car too.

And I'm sorry to inform than in my opinion the chain in photo isn't gold. Let it soak in household ammonia for an hour or so, the ammonia shouldn't change color. If the ammonia doesn't change color try to scrub it with a little toothpaste on a cottonball. If it's gold, it should shine up easily.

And all of the gold chains I know of are solder together, not pinched like the chain in the photo. That chain reminds me or a teather chain used on brass locks. I would venture to say that the metal is made brass.
