50 cents of Barber, "extra coin-silver plate spoon", round ball, ladies double chaps

My car broke down, so I took the day off to drop it at the dealership, and detect. Did about 4.5 hours and found some nice stuff. The round ball and spoon were my favorite finds, the ladies buckle was a great change, and you bet I'm loving them barbers! I have a few what'sit's so if you can dial in on any let me know!

ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1444346910.130600.jpg in-situ barber but I thought I had a seated due to the depth

Any idea on the spoon age? I know coin silver was used early on since it was the only silver available but for plating?

Anyway I had fun and made me forget all about my crappy car

SCRAP " DANG THAT SPOON GOT TO BE FROM EARLY 1700S ID SAY , AND MAN ALIVE YOU GOT SOME DARN SWEET FINDS....

I hope you're right but you also mentioned the twisting being civil war era style. Your latter assumption may be closer to the truth. Thanks for looking bud

Sweet digs, man! And it looks like you found a twin to that buckle I posted earlier this week. Is yours dated, too?

Cheers,

Ken

Thx Ken, I did notice the similarities and its probably from around the same time. I haven't cleaned anything yet more than just a quick brushing so I haven't looked for dates etc.. What was the date of yours again?

Very nice finds Scrappy. You know that I like those Barbers... and, wow, two of them. If you add all of the Barber quarters that I have ever found together, it equals ONE...

Very well done my man!

Cool spoon, but I love Barber quarters and haven't found enough of them yet this year. I did find 2 Barber dimes in the same hole with an Indian today so all is not lost : )

Thx. It's hard to find someone that doesn't like barbers now. Funny thing was the public really disliked Barber currency when it was first minted. They must have thrown those quarters away in disgust...

Thx Don. I rarely get spills so a double dime barber would be a treat.
