50 cents of Barber, "extra coin-silver plate spoon", round ball, ladies double chaps

My car broke down, so I took the day off to drop it at the dealership, and detect. Did about 4.5 hours and found some nice stuff. The round ball and spoon were my favorite finds, the ladies buckle was a great change, and you bet I'm loving them barbers! I have a few what'sit's so if you can dial in on any let me know!

ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1444346910.130600.jpg in-situ barber but I thought I had a seated due to the depth

Any idea on the spoon age? I know coin silver was used early on since it was the only silver available but for plating?

Anyway I had fun and made me forget all about my crappy car

Steve

My little metal detecting car is well trained. When something breaks I get it fixed. About the time I've finished paying the bill something else breaks. So at least it's decent enough to wait till I'm caught up paying for it's prior repair.

Fantastic job on the barber quarters. They're both really nice.

nice digs.... spoon is cool

Thx Dave. Hopefully someone will know more about it and the age. My guess, with the coin-silver marking and the style, is early 19th c.

Haha! I'll take five bottles of the nickel cleaning tonic please! There's a guy that sells it out of a wagon over in your neck of the woods. Only about a holler away! Lol

Nice looking silvers, and buckle. What's with the ring, dime store variety or you holding out so you don't loose it to the better half? :)

George it IS Paul's spoon! Lol
Bill sent me a good article about Early American spoons/coin silver:

http://www.ebay.com/gds/EARLY-AMERICAN-COIN-SILVER-A-BRIEF-HISTORY-/10000000007006141/g.html

Anyway, the double barber was awesome but I found a Hiberbia Half penny , 3" down, 10' from where I found the 1901. The barber was 5" so naturally I thought that being deeper that it was a seated or capped! Lol
