i found this lead piece in a old ford crossing among the usual sinkers. however, it does not appear to be a sinker as it has no holes. i feel like i have seen something like this before. anyone have any ideas? IMG_2189.JPG IMG_2190.JPG IMG_2192.JPG

im thinking it is too large to be a musket ball and i do not believe that there was any civil war action in the area.

I've seen trolling weights that looked like that, they had a little wire loop molded into the edge
of the weight though. Any signs it had a loop at one time?

no, there are no signs of a loop. it was also extremely shallow in the area (less than 3 feet in most places) so i do not believe it could be used for trolling either. interesting thought though. im going to look up what those trolling weights look like for future reference
