So here is my tally after just one month back into the hobby, using a tesoro compadre (beast of a machine) and a minelab x terra 305. I am still getting the hang of the x terra but man that thing is deep, found the trade token at 12 and silver dimes at 10. The trade token looks to be the oldest coin from JP monti of the dakotas. Still I am happy

3 silver dimes
1 silver half
12 wheat cents 1916 is oldest
1830s cross, dated 1830
3 buttons, one fraternal
And just under 12 dollars in clad.

Just an awesome way to get back into the hobby, hoping to hit older sites before freeze and dig some more older coins

Thanks for looking

Excellent finds. Those silvers were deep.
I would dig ALL deep signals regardless of what numerous your machine is registering. Stay on that site and try to hit it right after the next good rain.

It did start to rain today and will go into tomorrow, I plan on waking up early and getting a few hours in before work on sunday. Most of the stuff came from a yard I hunted out but theres this old park that im at right now thats giving me the dimes and token. Lots of trash but I still think that there is stuff packed in there. The only coins I pull are 65 and older so thats a good sign to me!

Welcome back! ..I myself took a 15 year hiatus, (twins..)..and it was when I got a Mercury dime back in change somewhere, that I got the fever again...and I've got almost 2 great seasons under my belt and each great find is just as thrilling as the first..looking forward to more great stuff from you in the future...ddf

Wow, 1 month back and you pulled a walker. I have been searching high and low for 16 months and have yet to swing my coil over one of those.

Most of the text is worn off. I can make out the "5c jp monti for trade" but the front looks identical to a braided hair large cent, I can see an outline of the bust and the stars are prominent, but the date is near impossible to make out, I thought I saw an 18?? But I am not for sure. Its almost as though a large cent was ground down on the reverse and stamped independently, the coin is very thin. There are letters on the top on the reverse but I thought one was DR or OR. Im stumped by it
