Howdy All! I love it when I combine both of my favorite hobbies, detecting and native America relics. Site was located from a 1862 map and the 1875 map does not show it. I got the large 2 piece eagle Sunday. All the other relics came from hunts yesterday and todays lunch. I popped the fatty today, I believe it is a 59, will work to clean it up, only coin from this site. Then I walked no more than 10ft and spotted the: corrected pestle (mortar). It is in great condition. Any idea on the small ornate iron item?
The small eagle flat button is in supper condition. It measures at 11mm. The back mark is ORANGE COLOUR. I have not been able to locate one on here yet so any information is welcome.
As always, thanks and Keep Swinging!!

That sure was an unusual bunch of finds. I hope one of our experts can identify that button.

Great hunt! The flat eagle button looks Jacksonian (early 1800s political movement) to me, though I didn't find any exact matches in a quick Google search. I'd investigate that possibility.

Nice couple of buttons and other relics as well. Liking the stone mortar it's something that I've never found before. Looking at the finds you have a really nice little round buckle and the spool thingy on the left is different, what is it?

Nice hunt, and cool finds. The iron thingy looks like it might be some sort of specialty tool/wrench? Very interesting buttons, and hope you can get them identified. I love the pestle, and hope you can find a matching mortar bowl. HH

PEPPERJ I believe it is possibly for securing a saw handle to the blade? Keep Swinging!!

Red. That is what my friend suggested too. It is not particularly heavy duty and is flat on the back. I do not believe this site was there for a long time. It is on the 1862 map, but not on the 1875 map. There are hardly any little pieces of crocks, glass and other debris I typically find on so many of the other sites I detect. Thanks and Keep Swinging!!
