You should try to find even one letter to match. Looks like it may be a state copper, likely a CT.

Thanks. I have had good luck in my yard. My first coin find from my yard was a 1788 CT copper. Also found a 164? LIARD DE FRANCE and a 1831 large cent.

After looking threw my coin book more last night , I also believe it to be a CT copper from 1787 - 1788. My second one.
