It was a beautiful day. Found the ring, button, a couple of large coppers, and misc. other stuff. Lots of walking. Thought Brad was going to have to call 911 to get me back to the car. He He. The coppers are soaking in olive oil. I don't have much faith in that. But, I love the old ring. Not in great shape, but very old and pretty. Someone at one time must have loved it too. finds 002.JPG finds 003.JPG finds 004.JPG deer finds 011.JPG

GREAT old ring! That old button is a keeper as well. Is it one piece brazed shank? Nice hunt and I hope to see them coppers - slicks or not!

It is a two piece. I can see nothing on the back, but is not completely cleaned yet.

I've been waiting to see that ring after reading about in the other thread.
She's a beauty all right.

Oh, don't doubt the olive oil. It may take months or even a year but it'll definitely loosen up the crud. It may just surprise you.

Mineral oil is good too and actually better for the coin. Olive oil has a minuscule amount of acid whereas mineral oil is completely neutral.
Either way, they're all great finds no matter how they eventually turn out.

Great hunt Becky,
But were are the Coppers??? Lol
That ring is the keeper of the bunch, it definitely has some age to it.
Thanks for posting.

Very nice looking old silver ring. Are those quail on the button? You had a very good hunt!

Beautiful pix Becky, I love that ring, I'm so glad you found it. Today should be gorgeous out, maybe today will be the day to find that gold coin! I think they are quail too Dave, cool button.
