Was checking an area this am kind of quick. There were a couple of estates there long gone. Not much around the home sites, some clad and a lead ingot. On the highest point of the property a flat button and horse tack.
Just started cleaning the button was surprised with a 1808-1811 Federal Artillery Regiment design. IMAG0504.jpg

Awesome button, congrats! Yours is slightly different from the example pictured- notice the difference between the two in relation to the eagle's head and the word "Artillery". There are probably several variations.

I did notice that to. Couldn't find any info listing variations except for changes in design every few years. Probably the difference is in sizes.
