that is possible.

it's a bit tiny so it could have also been part of a folding fingernail file

The other piece appears to be Crushed tin

Small pocket knives were once very popular back in the old days... the nickels may be a sign of an older history to the ball field. I would keep at it there.

the Nickels don't really date the land.

The Ball field is c1890 as a Beginning Date.
so they do date the ball Field.

Fields were also used for Training Troops during Civil war.

But we have found Large Cents there also & I got an
1853 Quarter here in the past

Picture 051.jpg

place dries up every once in awhile But when I leave it go for a few months then come back days like this happen :laughing7:

Even after all that's come out of that place and yet, it still comes up with a goodie now and then!

WTG!

You should be getting close to finding that 20 dollar gold piece I left for you. Soon! ;)

I haven't really thought about it. I hate the thought of removing the Toning,
And the Buckle sounded Brittle as I was Trying to Straighten it more.
so tuff Decision right now :laughing7:

Really cool finds. The V nickels are pretty awesome but I like the buckle. I would love to know the history of that piece. Congrats.

yes I'm curious on that also. It appears to have Wolves in the corners But I'm not absolutely sure
they are not just meant to be decoration. They are soaking in WD40 right now.
Will probably Very slowly Try to clean them up enough for clearer pics at least.
