Pretty neat finding out what it was they had banded. It was nice you found a red tailed hawk instead of a canadian goose or something.

My band is from a racing pigeon, but no information about it on the American Racing Pigeon website, suspect it is too old, as their info begins in 2000. Will e-mail them the info. The bird who wore the band was born in 1989.

I didn't know pigeons could drive. ???
Do you think speed contributed to its death? :D :D

Hey CM, looks like you got the birth certificate.
Very cool find to all you band finders.

This just goes to show you that metal detecting serves yet another positive purpose. Add that to reinserting thousand and thousands of dollars of coins back into the economy, removing tons of scrap metal from the parks and schools, removing toxic lead bullets from the environment, returning untold numbers of rings and other personal property to their owners, assisting crime fighting. Bravo to you sir and to us, your fellow detectionist.

Nice job...It's kinda rewarding that the hawk got some closure, something due to all creatures...

Keep safe...
