It wasn't from lack of trying...Dug my heart out

Well had a game plan for yesterday, as I was flying solo and had a dollar bet with IP that I could beat out his last Rev War button...Nothing like friendly competition to get fired up.
I get to a new site which the farmer give me 4 hours to hunt and dig my first hole and thought I dug a gold (rectangle) brooch, but it ended up being plated, follow up by a dozen buttons and musket balls so I decided to go try another trusted old site. This time I pull what I thought was a gold button but also ended up being plated, what are the chances when you dig 2 gold brooches earlier in the season...It has some age to it but not as old as I wanted it to be... I have dug dozens and dozens of crotal bells but this is my first size 0 bell. I then get this low tone around where some nice buttons came out and popped out this bale seal and from the other side it looked at first glance to be a full RP button...Other finds include an 1896 LC and Crusty Geo II and a busted up pocket watch and heart shape something or other....I included my 1843 one penny token from last week, I found 3 of them this year and this would be the best shaped one I've gotten in all my years...Looks like the wave has ended and by the looks of the weather so is the season...
Yes IP I owe you a dollar $

That's $2 I have made detecting this year! :headbang:

I'm glad it wasn't based on my hunt today. Was still a good day, just not much quality.

Still some pretty good finds. A farmer limited you to 4 hrs?

Nice assortment of finds you were digging lots of targets and managed some really nice ones.
So IP is hedging all these beats lately, most be supplementing the coffee fund.

Wow you guys are murdering the relics up there if you can dig all that amazing stuff and still loose a bet! Nice work during "overtime" season up there. I bet that ground is getting COLD.

I probably have some bells that size, but the token is in real nice shape !
Tough I'd say to get any old copper as nice. Good job.

The heart-shaped something or other is a W.C Macdonald tobacco tag. Late 19th to early 20th century. Cool finds. Congrats.

Nice relic finds for such a short hunt, everything "cleaned up" very well! Maybe the farmer will let you have more time!

All in all looks like it was a successful hunt, I know I have had allot worse then that. You should double up that bet with IP for next year, bet you win your buck back with interest.

Thanks all...sure I'll get more time around those fields than just 4 hours...The farmer was leaving and just didn't want a stranger floating around the house...His wife just worked morning shift as well...
Sounds like plan for sure Zodiac...I will double up the bet with IP..sure he'll take it... even if he loses he's just giving back the money he won this year lol
