That does indeed look like something done by a European American, and not First Nations. Nothing quite like stumbling upon petroglyphs in the sage brush.

The only horse glyphs that I have seen that look anything like this one are in caves in France, dated back way back to pre-historic times. I've never seen anything like this one in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, or Utah.

Very cool glyph! I love puzzles, but this is something I unfortunately have no experience with. I echo Bill's sentiment. I hope the photo wasn't posted directly from a phone or it might have locational information embedded in it. You might also want to post this on the sub-forum specifically for treasure marks and signs:
Treasure Marks/Signs
Looking forward to see how this progresses!

The horizontal line in front of the horse looks like it depicts the ground and the 6 dots under it may indicate you need to dig 6 feet. The "E" to the far right of the horse may indicate you need to go East to find this place. The symbols above the horse look like upside down and backwards "5 symbols", maybe some sort of constellation pattern?

"You can Lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink". I think it's water under the horse. If there is a gully near there follow it down and look for more signs
