    1880 $5 DOLLAR GOLD COIN!!!!!!

It rained here most of the morning, I was really hoping to get out.
So around 1pm it stopped. That kind of shot my plans for the day.. (man im happy about that). So I decided to stay close to home, about 5 blocks from me..lol A PARK
Yes a park, I believe its been around since mid 1800s.
I was there about a year and a half ago when I first started detecting. Found some wheat pennys there.
So I figured I would spend a few hours just to get out before the holidays. Maybe find some merks and rosies.. Well I found 2 merks a IH and some wheats..
Until the gold coin showed up and stole the show!!!!
The best thing is I got it on video.
At first I thought it was a gold ring, so I pulled out my phone to video it, because my wife keeps saying to me why dont you find gold like the other people Lol
I always tell her, im not interested in gold. I like colonial!!!
Well this changes things a little. Haha.
I cant post the video right now, because I was not a Gentleman in it.
Needless to say I was pretty excited over this modern coin!!
This is just icing on the cake, my Christmas came early.
I will never look at a park the same again.
    Thanks for looking.
    George

Let me be the first to congratulate you George! It was awesome to hear the excitement in your voice when you called, and I was so happy for you. Like they say, the best finds are always unexpected, and that was certainly the case here. Banner vote on the way.

When you called me today and said you had found a gold coin, I must admit I wasn't surprised. After all I have seen you post this year, nothing would surprise me! I knew it was just a matter of time considering the areas you hunt and how often you get out. Congrats on a real bucket lister George. Banner vote going in

    Here is some deep thought...
    Imagine...
In 1880... loosing a 5 dollar gold coin then...
Is like loosing 300+ dollar bill now.
