2015 was a good year. For life and for treasures. While many hunger and thirst, we have the luxury to hunt down treasures.
I am lucky enough to have great digging buddies. How fun would it be to treasure hunt alone?
I started the year (Jan 6) with a 1848 Mechanic and ended it today with a 1744 Spanish cobb.
Life is good.

Beautiful and definitely a banner find. I'm still looking for mine.

I have heard tale of a Spanish gold cob that was found on a French & Indian War site in Pennsylvania - a site that I had hunted many times prior to the alleged discovery. It was supposedly found by an absolute novice in an area full of modern trash on the fringe of the main encampment area. The guy was taken there by a friend of mine, but before we became friends. Of course, nobody got a picture, and my friend doesn't talk to this guy anymore ???:BangHead:

I know of one that was found in coastal Connecticut, on a 1600's era property. This one is absolutely spectacular. I've never seen one as nice, even in my dreams.

I never put the headphones back on, for that would be greedy. I walked around the woods digesting the event. Walking around in a state of excitement as well as a state of some sort of survivor's guilt. I got over that really quickly.

Wait, so you didn't go back and recheck the hole??? That is Metal Detecting 101! RECHECK THE HOLE...lol
Congrats on the amazing finds!

What an amazing find!
May I ask what you use for a detector? I'm wondering what the vdi is on that? I would love to know! Thanks
