Got out today with Bill D. and a special (i don't mean slow adult) guest, Vino, and went to an old pounded out site in hopes of recovering something worth while. I didn't get into anything earth shattering but I did find a few early buckle pieces, some old pewter buttons, some flat buttons and a ton of lead (not pictured) This was my first time meeting George and I must say he's a great guy. Hopefully he will come back down to VA for a couple of days and find that buckle or cob he wanted.

Thats a lot of stuff for a pounded site. Man, that lozenge buckle is killer and one I havent found. Surely that place has produced some cobs B4?

It's produced a Lord Baltimore which is a little better than a cob :). The owner said its been pounded for 30 years so who knows what else has come out of there but I'm sure it was good.

Nice finds Joey! How does it feel to be in the company of two relic hunting legends? WTG, Q.

I tried to tell the lady at McDonalds this morning that I was going to detect with two legends but all she told me was that I was a nickel short.....she just didn't get it!

You pulled quite a few keepers out of that pounded site Joey. George timed his visit to warmer climates perfectly :laughing7:

Guess you proved the site really wasn't pounded out! Hope you left a little for Bill and George to find... :)

Thanks Brad. I'm sorry George couldn't find what he wanted but it was a good time.

Yeah Steve, as you know no site is ever pounded out. It was super windy so thank goodness it wasn't cold or it would have been unbearable.

Nice job and some great finds

Thanks. I was at a booth at a Civil War show when someone next to me purchased a Philadelphia Home Guard buckle like the one in your avatar. Went for a pretty penny!

Congrats Joey! For a "pounded" site, it produced a lot of nice stuff. Well played.

Although nobody killed it yesterday, it was the thrill of the hunt that had us constantly motivated as there was always the chance another Lord Baltimore could have popped outta there. And it was good that we checked that other spot on the way out as we now have another site to hit next time over that way. Had a great time with you and George as always. Hope we can do it again soon.
