Snow is melting in the Park and revealing some grassy areas. Detecting just what the sun gave me yielded some more 19th century relics. The small 2-piece cuff button with eagle and anchor over three cannon balls could be Civil War navy. The one-ringer fired bullet is likely the same vintage as the Minie balls recovered from the surrounding area. The 1912 Barber was the first find of the day. The 1864 Indian, the flattened thimble and the bullet were all within a couple feet of one another. Any ideas on the cast brass piece are welcome.

Awesome finds McCDig. Looks like you pulled some keepers, especially the IHP and Barber. :occasion14:

Thanks L-D. I was pretty stoked finding the Barber...always a great surprise to see silver. Very unusual to find an 1864 Indian with full "LIBERTY", but that shows how long people have bee frequenting this park.

Thanks Tommy. Yes, the time capsule for this place goes back. New pieces of history surface every time a detect there.

The 2-piece button is likely civilian blazer and not military; it may be 20th century.

The inner diameter of the cast brass piece is just under one-and-a-half inches. Could this be an oar lock?
