I was digging up a jar hole at my grandparents house ( where her mom and dad threw trash) and inside one of the jars I pulled up (filled with dirt) had a ring inside. Don't think the ring is old, maybe 90s and just accidently found its way. No one knows about it and its origin and my gma has never seen it before. Is there anyway to tell anout thw diamonds? 20160212_070555.jpg

Has a 10k marking and a star that looks laser engraved next to it.

I'd say that as small as they are they are probably real. Especially since the ring is gold, any jeweler or pawn shop will be able to tell you in a matter of seconds. Just don't sell it to the pawn shop guy, they are a rip off, lol.

I always expect to find that one jar full of silver coins or something similar that a family negligently tossed out, but never would have expected to see someone find a diamond ring in one. That is very unexpected, but hey the best finds are the unexpected ones! Congrats!

That is certainly an unusual find! Some one burying the past maybe?

On a 10k, I'm going to guess fake. However, they are small enough to not surprise me if they were real. I'd buy a diamond tester. They are cheap.

That sure is an unusual place to find some bling. But that is definitely an eye catcher

it's an engagement ring from a wedding set sold by walmart, and yes the stones are real but a poor quality

If it was me. I'd keep it in the jar and mount it on a nice oak base for a conversation piece or paper weight! How many others have one like it?

Cool find!! should keep people scratching their heads for years to come!!

oh, and as a side note... that wedding set retails for $298. as far as age, it is less than 5 years old. it has a newer version head which replaced an older version that was determined to be a defective design because the center invisible set (the small four stone cluster) would break off very easily
