Hallo Hunters...

This is my first post here and hope its in the right place for what im looking for... i live in Denmark and have recently found this Disc Brooch (In a Forrest) I´ve had some one tell me he's sure its silver, but probebly mixed with other alloys..? But with living in north Denmark (Århus) My first thought was ofcourse VIKING.. but after a looooong search on the Net, it seems to be more Roman in style than Viking.... It weighs around 55 grams and has a Lead filling on the Back side.. I took a Long time on cleaning it and hope it wasnt a bad thing to do ??

So the Big Q to all you Pro's out their ... What is it! Roman/Viking/Anglo saxon?

Welcome to Tnet.:icon_thumright:

I can tell you its not Roman.

I'm most familiar with British items, so this piece is not something I have seen before, so these are my observations;
Being the size it is & lead filled silver plated, it characteristics are more in keeping with a 18th-19th C construction. Particularly horse bosses/furniture/rosette. Therefore, my best guess it a circa 19th C horse leather mount.

Well its ancient, & by that I mean its pre-1300s.
Congrats on making a new life out there, my lack of language skills would hinder me, find English hard enough.
