1809 Half Cent that is....
Well I got a good go at things today after a late start. I was planning on going down to visit Treblehunter but I fell asleep as we were making plans. When I woke up it was just to late for a long drive.

So I went to a spot I've been eyeballing for some time. It is a hike in colonial spot. Got to digging and I'll let the pics tell most of the story...but man did I get thorned-up and torn to shreds with bramble! I was bleeding everywhere!

The pewter spoon and dish were just fragments. This site seems rather large so I'm going to tuck this one away until the Carolina Boys visit.

Good digs,

Steve

Now that is a dug steel penny. I have found a couple underwater that you could see the wheat stalks partly but I have NEVER seen a dug steel penny coming out of the ground in pristine condition like have been posted recently on here and another site. That half dime is awesome and a coin that has eluded me also. Very nice hunt. Nice bunch of silvers.

Nice half cent Steve. I have dug a couple 1809s. They have a nice big, bold date.

Lol. Pristine condition? That rusty round thing is the steel penny! You must have been confused. Those others were regular copper wheaties. Also, I don't post on any other sites. Thanks for looking

Well I've dug a handful of half cents and this by far it the best one, and the only non-farm find one. Thanks for looking

NOPE I am NOT confused. I knew which penny YOU posted was steel. I was referring to this thread. And the one on another site. Somebody on this site posted it a while ago. They are not on that site any longer. Banned.
