Hello all needless to say I'm super excited
Today I texted scrappy told him I dig a cartwheel
Penny. I get home start cleaning it and realize
It's not a copper it's silver. Not just silver but
Colonial silver Spanish silver
1757 Ferdinand VI 8 reale
Thanks for looking hh gl
Shout out to barrel and scrappy making me learn
The deus. My go to machine !

After researching an old tavern I read about and a road between to small colonial
Towns I realized a lot of the land was and has been still woods I was shot from s long hunt with the *******s of bramble on Friday so I was staying close to home I decided to hit that spot it's flat ground
And easy access. I get tuned up and started hitting targets right away. A few old wazzits a few Indians
After about an hour I'm walking slowly out toward car
I am using the deus at 7.8 frequency and swinging slow. I hear the chirp it's crystle clear
I was not expecting this. At 10 inches out poop's the brown disk
Like I said I'm thinking cartwheel penny Needless to say I'm sure glad I was wrong. Thanks again
Hh gl.

Actually, the MM designates two assayers who worked together between 1754 and 1765: Manual de Leon and Manuel Assorin.
Don....

I saw that Don. I thought it was one of those very long Spanish names when I looked it up. Lol. Thanks for the correction

Thanks  ...Without me you DID dig this! I smashed my phone last night, (not because of your find, just random drop and shatter) you can always reach me via e-mail till I get a mobile working.

All I can say is thank you so much for all those dirty nasty ugly pics!

Agree with Abe, I like to see a dirty pic. but not a 8R with some fresh dirt dropped on it for the show.
I always try to include at least one dirty pic. with all my posts.
Like this one.
find13-61-8.jpg

BTW Great find, and good thing you weren't "expecting" to find an 8R, you might have been disappointed, they don't pop out too often. You are lucky to get one, and a nice one at that. Mine is only an 1808, boo who.
Congrats on your Banner find.

Now darn I need to get out there.

I'm wondering just how that phone got smashed. PBR's with Rick? Lol.

That's a good point. You educated him, and I made fun of him for motivational purposes, but C-Dawg did dig this by himself. Now it looks like we created a monster!!

All I can say is thank you so much for all those dirty nasty ugly pics!!!! I love seeing things as they come from the ground then seeing them as they clean up. I never would have guessed a big silver coin was under all of that either. Allow me to give the first BANNER nod. Truly incredible man. And once again thanks for the great pics. It just adds legitimacy to these posts and as I said I love seeing the dirty pics better than the cleaned ones. I also like to see the before and afters and hear what people used for cleaning methods. It helps us all learn and decide what we feel is best.... Ya know for when I dig my big old 8 reales lol. Congrats bud

Yes series of dirty dug photos is always nice to see thanks for the cleaning tip. Hh gl

WHAT!!! Insane man. Ha. I thought you found two coins... Then I actually read the post. I can't believe it came out so crusty and cleaned up so nice. What a sick 8 Reales.

I was totally surprised as I cleaned it. Like I said , thought I had a cartwheel penny

That is a stellar coin ! Just so you all know there are many proven methods under the cleaning and preservation section that are tried and proven with before and afters from some great hunters. I know Buckleboy is quite versed in a lot of his cleaning techniques . Again great dig!

Thanks I'll reach out to him for cleaning hh gl
