I got out for a five hour hunt today and found these.
The spoon says National nickle silver. [needs some tarnex].
These four buttons were about a foot apart and 6 inches deep.
Must have been off a coat but none of the fabric was left.
Any button experts out there know if these are the real deal or copies.

TIA and best luck to all.

Nice haul, the buttons are "Great Seal" buttons. These were introduced in 1902. Congrats!

Merf,
Great job on the buttons and coins. That's an old Merc! The date is very readable on the nickel too. Lucky.
Is that ring silver, or a toy?
Congrats,

Wow Great Job today I am happy 5 hrs paid off for you. The buttons look like those on Pea coat possibly from a military jacket. I am no button expert but i would give a good guess and say thats a start as where they may be from. Be safe and HH... :o

Thanks to all.

MM-- - The ring is gold plated I think. I thought it was gold with diamonds till I got it home and cleaned it up. What a letdown

Elvis--Thanks for the info on the buttons.

Nice stuff Merf. Merc and Buff are nice. I would marvel you with my button expertise but I don't want to take away someone else's opportunity. ;) ;D :D

Congrats on the silver and buttons.

I found the same button design in my backyard this weekend but mine looks to be a cuff button. From my research I can confirm what GaElvis stated. It is a "Great Seal" button that was introduced in 1902.

Nice digs..
