Old plow?

Found this old iron piece about a foot down. Not really sure what it is, we were thinking an old plow. It was found deep in the woods, next to a old rock pile. Any suggestions as to what it could be would be appreciated!

It's called a plowshare, it fastened to the bottom of the mold board, and, it was NOT made from a sword.
