Today I had a cardiologist appointment and took my detecting gear along. Everything was O.K. with my appointment so afterward I went to a friends place to visit hoping to detect his yard. The house was built in the late 1800's so it should have been good for coin shooting. Wrong! Very few old coins or clad, but some nice finds regardless. I found a New York World Fair 1939 brooch. The pics are before cleaning and after. It cleaned up really nice. Also found a sterling ring that needs some straightening, but it shouldn't be a problem. I also found an old ladies compact that still had the old powder pad and mirror inside. When I opened it, it
still had that powder smell I remembered when my grandmother used one years ago. Also found a dozen clad coins and one 1927 wheat which I didn't post pictures of. It was a beautiful day to be out. Happy hunting and keep on swinging. I have a correction to this post. I left the Worlds Fair brooch with my friend because he wanted to keep it and he emailed the photos to me with the before and after shots as a joke. The after pic was one he found on EBay for sale. The one I found still has the green patina. Sorry for the unintentional deception.
