Metal Munching Underwater Mosquito's Got my Cartwheel!

I found my second ever cartwheel. This one a Morgan, my last one a peace. However, it has been altered a bit. Still a pretty nice find. No gold and that was the only silver but I will take it. I have found two mercs cut out, a buffalo, and a standing liberty quarter, never a silver dollar. The loop is gone of the Chinese or whatever coin, token or pendant. Maybe a cash coin made into a pendant?

I won't bore you with how many pull tabs and bottle tops that are in that pile. You can tell by the three pair of sunglasses that it is a huge pile of trash.

13 quarters, 17 dimes, 5 nickels and 36 pennies are my clad totals. The earring and bracelet are junk metal.

Beautiful day in the water wading. Only a little more time and I will be diving exclusively.

BTW, the compass headings worked GREAT. I didn't get lost!!

Here are three of the other 4 coins I found underwater that were cut out. Another is hiding in my photo's somewhere.

That's a really cool find. I was about to use the word unique but then I saw your last photo. You're beginning a pretty nice collection there. Congrats!

Congrats, I love the 4 cut coins. :occasion14: 80 degrees here in Northern Ohio, would have been a good day to wade.

Congratulations on the Cartwheel. That one is sweet.
The water Temps here are 56 degrees,
(plus or minus a few degrees). Maybe I'll go wading this weekend.

Thanks all. Going to play in another area of the same lake today. I might try bullet beach again, just not sure. I hate chasing targets! Also contemplating taking my scuba gear to see if I freeze.

Where ever you are playing, BE SAFE.

The only thing you need to do now is trail about 10' of 8lb test with a silver spoon and you could bring home lunch with it!

Great finds.

Looks like people in Michigan like cut-out coins a lot. Not saying I don't too, but finding one here is beyond time consuming. Congratulations!

Well I didn't get out to play today like I wanted. Had way too much fun fixing docks. Same with tomorrow. Looks like Friday will be a killer day to find gold or something. At least a pull tab or two.

I do have all my dive gear ready. I am really thinking of taking the plunge.

Nice finds.

I remember seeing cut out coins when I was a child... I have always liked them, but alas, have never found one. You, on the other hand, have four! Wow, those are really nice. I really like finding things that "used" to be coins. Well played sir!
