Had a nice four hours of metal detecting today in Seven Valleys, PA. Found a first - a colonial Vermont copper! DFX killing it!

the item listed as "?1" is a snap to hold a fabric roof onto a very early car or even a horse buggy. Trade name was "lift a dot" or "lift the dot". Your piece was attached to the fabric, and then snaps onto a pin that screws into the wood or steel body.

Yes! It does say Lift and Dot. On the back it says Boston Mass.

Well well well. I have found many of those, never knew what they were. Thanks for the info!

That's a great 4 hour result, 1 copper/hour average! That's roughly our scrappy rate. (Not saying yours are scrappies, they are in good shape)

That's definitely a fun day!

Your dateless Halfpenny is 1746-1754, and your other is not 1750, it's 1730.

Great young head KG2! The Vermont is an excellent find as well - probably the least found state copper posted on here (besides NY).

Hello gforce1972. Those coins are too-rite. Finds like that are hard to come by here in Florida. Good Luck. C9

Thanks. Never had any clue this site would be so productive. It's a nondescript abandoned farmhouse that a friend bought to renovate. We know that it was once a mill. Found a few other KGs here and a few weeks ago I found a clipped CT copper.
