I got out early for 4hrs yesterday morning before the heat of the day set in... man is it ever dry here in Ontario! This park is directly across the street for a 1957 high school I detected last weekend, where unfortunately I only found modern coins. I was hoping for some silver coinage here, but only managed to pop a small silver ring. I think I like the the 1950's 'Zurn Hydrant Key'. My only wish was that the lighter had been complete, I even gridded the area to find the body of it. The Zippo Company in Pennsylvania still offers a lifetime refurbishment for any original Zippo lighter made in either the USA or Canada. I had two of the lighters restored by them that I found a couple of years ago... they're really great people to deal with too!The dry ground here is definitely making finding the deep stuff more of a challenge, but that's half the fun right! I took a picture of the earring as it hit in the silver range, but it's not marked.
I'll probably tumble the metal 'Deco Style' light switch plate and then paint it white and install it in my c.1925 house.
Thanks for looking and keep cool man,
Dave
