I vacationed in Maine this past week. On the way up I stopped at a friends house in Connecticut. I hit an old school area and got some wheats. Ground was very dry but didnt have enough time to find the silvers that were probably there. On the way home I stopped in New Jersey and hit a couple of old schools. Got some more wheats, square flat button, USA pin, sterling tennis? pin and the merc. I was drooling the whole trip at all the great looking detecting spots in New England

Congrats on the finds. The square button looks unique. Any design on the other side?

Nothing on the other side. This button along with some deep horse tack reveals an even older history of the site prior to the circa 1925 school. Never found a square one before though but I often find very deep items that do not fit with a sites current use. Those are always some of my favorite finds

Nice vacation finds! Scored some silver too! Congrats!

If you had posted an itinerary we could have sprinkled some goodies here and there for ya!
